Raul Alfonso

Raul Alfonso is the Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer at Port Tampa Bay, a position he has held since February 2013.12 He is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of success in the port, maritime, and international trade sectors.

Alfonso's career in the port industry spans several decades:

1. Started at PortMiami in 1987 in intermodal operations2
2. Became Marketing & Trade Development Manager at PortMiami from 1992 to 19972
3. Served as Director of Marketing & Business Development for the Americas at Hutchison Ports from 1998 to 20032
4. Worked at Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) from 2002 to 2013, progressing from Director to Senior Director of Marketing & Business Development2

In his current role at Port Tampa Bay, Alfonso leads the port's commercial activities, overseeing areas such as real estate, planning, marketing, business development, and branding.3 He has been instrumental in attracting major shipping lines to the port, including Maersk's new Cartagena service.4

Alfonso attended Florida International University, studying Business Administration and Management.2
