Rashad Ullah
Linguistics Researcher, Lexicographer, and Lecturer
Rashad Ullah is a Bangladeshi-American linguist specializing in semantics and South Asian languages.2 He is a Senior Language Researcher at JTG Inc.'s Language Research Center in Hyattsville, Maryland, a position he has held since July 2016.1
Ullah completed his Ph.D. in Linguistics at Yale University, with his dissertation focusing on "Bangla K-words: Inquiries into Polarity, Indefiniteness, and Free Choice".13 Prior to his doctoral degree, he earned his M.A. and M.Phil. in Linguistics from Yale University.1
In his role at JTG Inc., Ullah conducts research and analysis on Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTLs) and oversees the development of language instructional and resource materials for use by English L1 learners in government agencies.1 He works with native author-researchers on languages such as Amharic, Dari, Iraqi Arabic, and Syrian Arabic.1
