After a successful stint at NeXT, Randy founded Emerald City Software, an influential desktop publishing software publisher for Mac, eventually procured by Adobe Systems where he assumed the role of Director of Engineering, playing a pivotal role in the creation of the PDF and Acrobat tools.
Steve Jobs drew Randy back to spearhead Appsoft, a software company supported by Sequoia Capital, dedicated to developing applications for NeXT computer, which transitioned to the inception of the Internet Shopping Network, the pioneering E-Commerce platform in 1994, swiftly acquired by Home Shopping Network where Randy took the helm as the Division President for the online segment.
