Ramsey Faragher
Ramsey Faragher is a world-renowned expert in GNSS-denied positioning, sensor fusion, and machine learning for navigation systems. He is currently the CEO and Founder of FocalPoint, which is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies in GNSS, indoor positioning, and autonomous positioning systems. Ramsey's extensive experience includes working as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge and as a Principal Scientist at BAE Systems. At BAE, he created the NAVSOP opportunistic positioning suite, which won him the Early Career Engineer of the Year award in 2009. Ramsey has also contributed his expertise to the navigation systems of various platforms for the land, air, and sea fields, working with MOD, ESA, and RSSB, among others. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, and a Bye Fellow of Queens’ College, Cambridge. Ramsey has a PhD and an MSci in Experimental and Theoretical Physics, as well as a BA in the same field, all from the University of Cambridge. He has also lent his expertise in science to television production and Forbes Africa. Ramsey's specialty fields include deep-tech startups, GNSS signal processing, opportunistic radio positioning, GPS-denied navigation, multipath mitigation, remote sensing, autonomy, machine learning, physics, and systems engineering.
