    Rami Vainio is a professor of space physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Turku, Finland.1 He is also the head of the Space Research Laboratory (SRL) at the university.1 Professor Vainio is a leading expert in SEP (Solar Energetic Particle) acceleration and transport modeling.2

    In his role, Professor Vainio:
