Rami Desai
Anthropologist and Theologian
Rami Desai is a seasoned researcher and writer with a focus on politically sensitive regions like the North East frontier states of India and Kashmir. He has written numerous whitepapers on these topics.
In 2010, he founded The North East Policy Institute (NPI), a think-tank located in Guwahati, India, to delve deeper into socio-political issues affecting minority tribes in the region.
While initially leading NPI, Rami later transitioned to exploring new ventures that tackle ongoing social and political challenges in Guwahati.
Rami's operational presence extends from New Delhi and Mumbai to various cities in South Asia and globally. With a passion for travel, he has traversed India and beyond, holding a special affinity for the Himalayas.
His educational background includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Anthropology and Sociology of Religion from King's College London.
Previously, Rami has been associated with organizations such as Self Employed under InsightwithRami, India Foundation in New Delhi as a Distinguished Fellow, and as the Director and Founder of North East Policy Institute (NPI).
