Raj Subramaniam

Raj Subramaniam is the President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Corporation, a leading global transportation and logistics company. He assumed this role in June 2022, succeeding the company's founder, Frederick W. Smith, and became the second CEO in FedEx's history. Subramaniam has been with FedEx for over 30 years, having held various leadership positions in operations and marketing, including President and Chief Operating Officer prior to his current role.124

Education and Early Life

Originally from Trivandrum, India, Subramaniam earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. He later moved to the United States, where he obtained a Master of Science in chemical engineering from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.14

Career at FedEx

Subramaniam joined FedEx in 1991 as an associate marketing analyst and quickly advanced through the ranks. He has played a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic direction, focusing on global expansion and digital transformation. In addition to his role at FedEx, Subramaniam serves on the board of directors for Procter & Gamble and is involved in various organizations aimed at enhancing economic growth and trade, including the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S.-India CEO Forum. He was appointed to the President’s Export Council by President Joe Biden in 2023 and is a recipient of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, recognizing his contributions to the Indian diaspora.126
