Raj Shukla

Raj Shukla is the President and CEO of River Network, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting healthy rivers and safe drinking water. He officially took on this role on June 20, 2023, following a national search for leadership.12

Background and Experience

Shukla has a robust background in environmental advocacy and policy. Before joining River Network, he served as the Midwest Director of Freshwater Policy for The Nature Conservancy from March 2021 to June 2023. His previous roles include:

• Executive Director at the River Alliance of Wisconsin (August 2016 - March 2021)
• Director of Programs at Cool Choices (February 2014 - August 2016)
• Wisconsin State Finance Director for Progressive Majority (February 2006 - January 2008)
• Program Officer at the Greater Milwaukee Committee (July 2003 - May 2005)

Shukla also founded Brightbend, a consultancy focused on integrating social responsibility into business practices.23

Education

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1994 and 1998.23

Vision and Goals
