Raj Desai

Raj Desai is a highly-experienced Associate Director at Cognizant with an extensive background in managing and providing Medicaid application knowledge, testing support, and analytical support in MMIS of the new Java-based Enterprise Systems using Agile and SDLC methodologies. With an educational background that includes an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) in Data Processing as well as an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Science, Desai has the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to liaise between the Business programs community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs. With a talent for managing functional, testing, conversion, and development team members to interface with clients, he is able to define specific processing requirements, participate in formal concept sessions/Agile Sprints and create gap stories, HLD (High Level Design), LLD (Low Level Design), use cases and related Business Rules, Data Models, data tables, SQLs to design, integrate and implement new MMIS systems based on the requirements gathered. Desai is also responsible for reviewing and approving Requirements Analysis Documents and Technical Business Design Documents, performing testing of the developed system for UAT readiness, and providing a solution to integrate multiple functional areas to implement new MMIS systems. Throughout his career, Desai has held positions at various companies such as NewWave Telecom & Technologies, Inc., ACS, a Xerox Company, CNSI, CSC, and Unisys.
