Rahil Sondhi

Rahil Sondhi is the Founder and CEO of PopSQL, a collaborative SQL editor designed for teams to write queries, visualize data, and share results efficiently. He has held this position since October 2016, leading the company in developing a product that caters to data teams from over 2,000 companies, including notable clients like DoorDash and Redfin.13

Before founding PopSQL, Sondhi worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Instacart from 2015 to 2019, where he played a significant role in various projects, including leading the launch of Instacart's operations in Canada and developing critical systems for the company.24 His early career included software engineering roles at Looksharp and Tunezy, where he contributed to significant projects that enhanced data management and user engagement.2

Sondhi's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing from the University of Toronto at Scarborough, and he also participated in the Y Combinator startup accelerator program in 2019.23 In April 2024, PopSQL was acquired by Timescale, further expanding its capabilities and integration with cloud database services.45
