Raghu Kiran Appasani, MD, is a renowned psychiatrist, neuroscientist, and social entrepreneur working towards bridging the gap between eastern and western mental health practices. He is the founder and CEO of The MINDS Foundation, a mental health nonprofit, and has been recognized as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and One Young World Delegate Ambassador, among other accolades.
Dr. Appasani has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles and edited five books through his extensive scientific research. His commitment to wellness has led to initiatives focused on reliance and empathy in physicians, resulting in him receiving the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Additionally, he recently launched CircleSpace, a new wellness company that specializes in addressing the subclinical mental health space.
Dr. Appasani is skilled in mental health, social entrepreneurship, global health, neuroscience, and psychiatry. He has experience in research, management, networking, and advising and has worked with organizations such as World Health Organization, Maslo, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Appasani is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Wesleyan University, where he studied neuroscience and behavior/science in society.
