    Architect

    Rafi Segal is an architect and Associate Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he directs the SMArchS Urbanism program.12 Born in 1967, Segal studied architecture at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, earning an engineering degree, followed by a PhD from Princeton University.3

    Segal's work spans multiple scales, from individual buildings to urban systems and regional planning.     In addition to his design work, Segal is an accomplished author and researcher. He has published books such as "Space Packed: The Architecture of Alfred Neumann" (2018) and co-edited several others.4 His research interests include exploring how emerging ideas about sharing and collectivity can influence building typology and urban design.34
