Radu Matei

Radu Matei is the CTO and co-founder of Fermyon Technologies.15 He created the Spin project and is working on building a new generation of computing platforms using WebAssembly (Wasm).1 Previously, Radu worked at Microsoft in the DeisLabs research and development team, where he was a core maintainer for several server-side WebAssembly and distributed systems projects such as Krustlet, Draft, Brigade, and the Cloud Native Application Bundle project.1

Radu is passionate about open source, WebAssembly, machine learning, cloud native technologies, and distributed systems.3 He has been involved in various projects and has given presentations at conferences such as KubeCon + CloudNativeCon.4

As a software engineer at Microsoft, Radu was a maintainer for multiple open-source projects and worked as a Technical Evangelist, helping developers build innovative solutions.24 He has contributed significantly to the development of event-driven scripting frameworks for Kubernetes, particularly through his work on the Brigade project.4
