Rachel Wheeley

Rachel Wheeley is currently the Director of Communications and Engagement at City St George's, a position she has held since August 2024.1 Prior to this, she served as the Director of Communications and Engagement at St George's, University of London from March 2023 to August 2024.1

Wheeley has a strong background in higher education communications and public engagement. She leads a team responsible for strategic communications, events, alumni relations, development, and the Vice-Chancellor's office.2 Her role involves enhancing the organization's reputation, managing crisis communications, and overseeing fundraising efforts.1

Wheeley has a diverse professional background, including experience in radio production at Absolute Radio and as a stand-up comedian, where she delivered workshops to scientists on media handling and public speaking.1 She is currently pursuing an MSc in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh.1
