Educator and Non-profit Leader
Rachel McGrain is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational and professional background. She holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Education from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History and Music with a focus on trumpet performance, achieved Magna Cum Laude at the University of Maryland College Park.
Throughout her career, Rachel has been actively involved in various organizations. She currently serves as the Baltimore City Director at Repair the World. Previously, she held the role of Development Director at Arts Education in Maryland Schools Alliance. Prior to that, she worked as an Instrumental Music Teacher, Math Tutor, Brass Coach, and Mathematics Teacher at different institutions in Baltimore City. Rachel also contributed her skills as a Corps Member at Teach For America and gained valuable experience as a National Partnerships Intern at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Furthermore, Rachel has demonstrated leadership qualities in her roles, having served as the President of Sigma Alpha Iota, Gamma Epsilon chapter. She also gained experience as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in Writing for Nonprofits and as an Assistant Center Director at Higher Achievement. Additionally, Rachel contributed to the community as a Trip Leader for the Hillel Alternative Spring Break Program, Coordinator of Site Operations at Higher Achievement, Trumpet Performer as a self-employed individual, and Co-founder, Stage Manager, Producer, and Actor at SOLARplayers theatre company. She also has experience working as a Camp Counselor at Camp of the Arts.
