Executive Co-Chair at Northwestern University Dance Marathon
Rachel Cantor is a creative problem solver with a passion for marketing and branding in the digital sphere, and she aims to drive positive social change through technology. Her strengths lie in communication, collaboration, and curiosity, leading her to connect with diverse individuals.
Rachel served as the Executive Co-Chair of Northwestern University Dance Marathon (NUDM) from April 2019 to April 2020.1 As Executive Co-Chair, Rachel managed and supported a 20-person Executive Board and over 450 committee members.2 She also acted as the liaison between NUDM and the 2020 primary beneficiary, Children’s Home & Aid, and the secondary beneficiary, the Evanston Community Foundation.2
Prior to the cancellation of the 30-hour dance-a-thon in March due to the spread of COVID-19, Rachel planned the event for over 1,000 dancers, working with administrators, sponsors, students, and key donors.2 She and her team managed all crisis management, and she rallied the Executive Board and the dance marathon community to continue fundraising for NUDM’s beneficiaries.2 Cantor and the Marketing Co-Chairs reworked the 30-hour social media plan to create a virtual dance marathon on social media.2 By midnight on March 8, 2020, NUDM had raised over $1 million without an actual event.2
Rachel is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she majored in Communication Studies and minored in French.1 She also holds a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Medill School of Journalism.1 Rachel has interned at Digitas and Refinery29, and she has launched her own newsletter.1 Currently, she is working in marketing at Origin.3 Previously, she worked in marketing at Tydo and writing at Morning Brew.3
