    Rachana Bhatt is a dedicated Scientist with a strong research background in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, biomaterials, and chemistry.

    In her research projects, Rachana focuses on antibiotic/drug discovery, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering.

    She has developed a FRET-based HTS assay for identifying new antibiotics targeting ternary complex formation of protein synthesis in bacteria.

    Rachana has also worked on creating cost-effective and biodegradable polymers with packaging and biomedical applications.

    Her expertise includes the study of microbial synthesis, chemical modifications, and biodegradation of Poly (3-hydroxyalkanoates) (PHAs).

    Apart from her research endeavors, Rachana has served as Adjunct Faculty at NJCSTM, Kean University, Union, NJ, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, NJ.

    She pursued her Doctorate in Microbiology at Sardar Patel University.

    Professionally, Rachana has been a Research Associate at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Rutgers University–New Brunswick, and a former Research Assistant at New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University.

    She has also held roles as Adjunct Faculty at New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics (NJCSTM), Kean University, and Adjunct Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

    Additionally, Rachana has worked as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, New Jersey Institute of Technology.
