R. Raab
R. Michael Raab is the Founder and President of Agrivida, Inc., a biotechnology company based in the Greater Boston area, which he has led since its inception in January 2002. His leadership has been pivotal in the company's growth, overseeing business and technical development, securing funding, assembling management and scientific teams, and developing a robust intellectual property portfolio. Under his guidance, Agrivida has expanded to over 45 employees and established collaborations with major companies such as Syngenta and POET.12
Dr. Raab holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where his research focused on linking gene transcription to chemical reaction rates in living cells. He also earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to founding Agrivida, he worked as a Staff Biochemical Engineer at Merck Research Laboratories, contributing to process design and scale-up for vaccines.1
In addition to his role at Agrivida, Dr. Raab serves as a Board Director at Tiba Biotech, a company specializing in RNA-based vaccines for both human and animal health. His contributions to the field have been recognized with awards such as the TR35 Award from MIT Technology Review, honoring him as one of the top innovators under 35 years old.1
