Priyanka Sahu is currently an assistant professor of Economics in the Department of Humanities and Social Science at Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology, a centrally-funded technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Her research interests primarily lie in Open Macro Monetary Economics with a focus on theoretical and empirical analysis of India's core inflation. Additionally, she has a keen interest in labor economics, notably exploring work-life balance for white-collar employees in the IT-ITeS sector in India and gender employment equality for tribal women in Jharkhand.
She is well-versed in time series analysis, panel data analysis, econometrics software such as RStudio, Eviews, SPSS, Stata, statistics, economic research, and lecturing in economics. Priyanka Sahu is an accomplished academic with a background that includes pursuing a Ph.D. in Open Macro-Monetary Economics at the University of Hyderabad.
Her academic journey includes achieving a M.Phil. in Economics with a focus on Labour Economics from the University of Hyderabad and a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from Pondicherry University, where she also excelled in Statistics and Research Methodology. Priyanka Sahu completed her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Xavier's College.
In terms of professional experience, Priyanka Sahu has held various roles including being an Assistant Professor at GKCIET, Malda, where she was also the former Coordinator of UDYAMITA AWARD at the Women Empowerment Cell and the Nodal Officer at the Gender Budget Cell. She has also served as an Associate Training and Placement Officer at GKCIET, Malda, a Faculty of Economics at Oxford Public School, a Research Analyst at Moody's Analytics Knowledge Services, and an Internship Trainee at the Institute for Human Development.
