Priya Thakkar

Priya Thakkar is a dedicated Non-clinical Occupational Therapist with a passion for creating healthy work environments and optimizing healthcare operations. She brings a holistic perspective to Disability Management by leveraging her experience in healthcare provision, functional assessment, and Human Resources.

With a strong background in vocational rehabilitation, case management, and return to work strategies, Priya has gained valuable insights from working in corporate, private practice, and hospital settings. In her current role, she collaborates with diverse stakeholders to design and deliver rehabilitation services that aim to minimize workplace absences.

Priya Thakkar holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree encompassing Psychology, Biology, and Human Resources Management from the University of Waterloo. Additionally, she pursued her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto.

Throughout her career, Priya has held various roles such as Rehabilitation Consultant at Sun Life, Co-Founder at OTech Canada, Graduate Student Researcher focusing on Technology and Social isolation at the University of Toronto, and Occupational Therapist specializing in Motor Vehicle Accidents at GLA Rehab.

Her diverse experience includes positions in rehabilitation consulting, return-to-work programs, tele-rehabilitation, cardiology, mental health, and human resources. Priya has also served in research, regulatory affairs, and student leadership roles in organizations like IMAX, Therapure Biopharma Inc, and different healthcare institutions.
