Preston Martin

Preston Martin is the Co-Founder and President of Bicycle Technologies International (BTI), a prominent wholesale distributor of bicycle parts and accessories based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He co-founded BTI in 1993 alongside Andrew Wright in Ashland, Oregon, and has been instrumental in its growth and development over the years. Under his leadership, BTI has expanded its inventory to include over 20,000 unique SKUs from nearly 300 brands, catering to independent bicycle dealers across the United States.13

In addition to his role at BTI, Martin serves as the Board Chair of Bicycle Harvest, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cycling.1 His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Southern Oregon University, which he completed between 1987 and 1991.1

In late 2020, Martin transitioned BTI into an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), making it one of the few companies in the U.S. to adopt this model. This change was aimed at enhancing employee involvement in decision-making and providing profit-sharing opportunities rather than traditional stock ownership.23 Martin has expressed a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring that employees feel valued and engaged in the company's direction.2
