Praerit Garg

Praerit Garg is currently the President of Product & Innovation at Smartsheet, a leading cloud-based platform for work execution.14 He joined Smartsheet in February 2019 as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Vice President (EVP) of Engineering.2 In November 2021, he was promoted to Chief Product Officer & EVP of Engineering, and in April 2024, he assumed his current role as President of Product & Innovation.15

With over 25 years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems and internet services, Garg has held significant positions in major tech companies14:

1. General Manager at AWS for identity, access, and directory services
2. Co-founder of Symform, a distributed internet storage startup (acquired by Quantum)
3. 12 years at Microsoft, where he contributed to Windows features and was part of the team that built Active Directory

Garg is passionate about building a product and engineering culture of innovation, finding simpler solutions to complex problems, and delivering great experiences for customers.4 He is also a co-inventor on more than 25 patents.34

Academically, Garg holds a master's degree in computer science from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.1

Outside of work, Garg enjoys traveling with his family, experiencing different cultures, and exploring their food, art, architecture, and history.34
