Philly Desai is an experienced international development consultant with a background in research and evaluation, behavior change communications, and addressing harmful social norms. With a strong foundation in team leadership, project management, and social analysis, Philly's career trajectory evolved from commercial marketing to blending commercial and social development methodologies. Throughout roles in the UK, Nigeria, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, Philly has honed skills in designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, crafting Theories of Change and logical frameworks, and managing research programs for various international organizations.

Specializing in qualitative and participatory methods like focus groups, case studies, and ethnography, Philly has developed impactful social marketing strategies in both the UK and Africa. Noteworthy campaigns Philly has been involved in include those addressing smoking and drug misuse prevention, promoting healthy lifestyles, recruiting for the Armed Services, and combating violent extremism. As the Social Norms and Behavior Change Adviser on the Voices for Change program, Philly played a key role in creating guidance notes, advising on monitoring social norm changes, and contributing as a technical adviser to initiatives targeting gender-based violence.
