Phillip Samayoa

Phillip Samayoa is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.

He holds a Dual S.B. in Biological Engineering and Physics from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology and pursued a PhD in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology at the University of California, San Diego.

Phillip is currently the Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Development at Generation Bio, showcasing his leadership and strategic vision in the biotech industry.

Prior to his current role, he held various key positions including Principal at Atlas Venture, Vice President of Strategy and Portfolio Development, as well as Senior Director of Strategy and Portfolio Development at Generation Bio.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found several successful ventures such as Dyne Therapeutics, Codiak Biosciences, and also being part of the founding team at Indigo.

Phillip's impactful contributions extend to his tenure at Merck where he served as Principal at MRL Ventures, demonstrating his expertise in corporate investment and development within the pharmaceutical landscape.

He has also been involved in notable organizations such as Translate Bio, Axcella, and Flagship Pioneering, where he honed his skills in product strategy, intellectual property, and venture development.
