Early Life and Career Beginnings
Philippe Reinhardt was born on May 14, 1981 in Zürich, Switzerland. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for acting, gathering his first stage experience at age 8 through various roles in school plays. He also played guitar and performed Elvis Presley songs in front of audiences. Reinhardt began making his first short films as a child, discovering his passion for acting and filmmaking early on.1
Acting Training and Early Roles
After briefly pursuing a career as a professional tennis player, Reinhardt decided to follow his true passion and completed his actor's training in Hamburg and Munich. He continues to regularly train with famous acting mentors like Christopher Fettes, Giles Forman, Lena Lessing, Matthias Schott and Frank Bezelt.1
Reinhardt's first acting roles were in German television series, followed by movie offers like the German comedy "1 1⁄2 Knights – In Search of the Ravishing Princess Herzelinde" with Til Schweiger in 2008. That same year he starred in the Swiss film "Champions".13
International Breakthrough and Success in Russia
By 2012, Reinhardt began appearing in international productions, including the historical World War II soccer drama "Match" directed by Andrey Malyukov and Fedor Bondarchuk's "Stalingrad", Russia's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2013.13
He gained widespread fame through his starring role as "Helmut" in the 2016 Russian comedy film "The Groom", which became Russia's most successful film of the year with nearly 3 million moviegoers and over 20 million TV viewers.124 The character achieved similar iconic status in Russia as "Fack Ju Göhte" in Germany.4
Recent and Upcoming Projects
In 2018, Reinhardt played a role in the Russian war drama film "Sobibor", which was selected as Russia's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.13 He has continued to star in major Russian film and TV productions, including the blockbuster war epic series "Diversant" which has reached over 50 million viewers per film.24
Reinhardt's first U.S. feature film "The Match" is set for release in 2022, reuniting him with the story of the 2012 Russian film "Match" that launched his international career. He will star alongside Armand Assante, Casper Philippson and Franco Nero.24

Philippe Reinhardt currently lives in Berlin and Zürich with his fiancée. In addition to his prolific acting work, he has appeared in various theater productions in Germany and Switzerland since 2005.13
