Philippa Broughton

Philippa Broughton is a partner at Adgestone Vineyard, located on the Isle of Wight. She co-owns the vineyard with her partner, Russ Broughton, who has a background in engineering. Together, they purchased the vineyard in 2013, revitalizing it and expanding its production significantly. Under their management, Adgestone Vineyard has become known for producing unique wines, including the UK's only blue sparkling wine, "Something Blue," which is made using traditional methods and has garnered attention for its distinctiveness.135

In addition to her role at the vineyard, Philippa is a freelance tax solicitor specializing in UK tax advice and planning for both corporate and individual clients. Her legal expertise complements her work in the vineyard industry, where she has helped navigate the complexities of running a commercial wine business.46

Philippa's journey into viticulture began somewhat serendipitously when she and Russ stumbled upon the opportunity to purchase the vineyard while visiting family on the Isle of Wight. Despite having no prior experience in winemaking, they embraced the challenge and have since transformed Adgestone into one of England's oldest continuously operating vineyards.123
