Phil Cooper is an experienced professional with over 30 years in investment management and private equity. He has held various roles such as entrepreneur, principal investor, fund investor, and secondary investor. Phil is a co-holder of US patents in investment technology and has provided advice on investment policy, governance, strategy, and tactics including asset allocation, risk management, and alternative investments.

In 2017, Phil founded Pine Island Capital Partners where he currently serves as the Managing Partner. In 1996, he conceptualized and led the Goldman Sachs Private Equity Group, growing it to over $11 billion in assets. During his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Phil also served on key committees such as the Risk, Operating, and Technology Committees. He retired as a Partner from Goldman Sachs in 2004.
