    Alexander "P.G." Sittenfeld (born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 1, 1984) is an American politician who previously served as a Cincinnati City Council member.15 He was the youngest person ever elected to the council, at age 27.5 Sittenfeld was convicted of felony bribery and attempted extortion.5

    Sittenfeld is an alumnus of Seven Hills School and Princeton University.1 Before entering politics, he worked for an education nonprofit in Cincinnati.2

    Sittenfeld served on the Cincinnati City Council from 2011 to 2022.5 During his time on the council, he was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and Chair of the Education, Innovation, and Growth Committee, as well as a member of the Equity, Inclusion, Youth, and the Arts Committee.5 He sponsored legislation to create a Vacant Foreclosed Property Registry and initiated the "Golden Cincinnati Initiative" to support the elderly community.5 Other legislation he sponsored included "renter's choice" options, ending cash bail requests for defendants, and allowing prospective job applicants with prior marijuana possession charges to not be denied employment.5 Sittenfeld also sponsored legislation creating Cincinnati's first bus-only lane and an amendment to the city charter allowing for regional funding for the Metro bus system.5

    In January 2015, Sittenfeld announced his bid for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat but lost in the primary to former Governor Ted Strickland.15 In July 2020, he announced his candidacy for the 2021 Cincinnati mayoral election but withdrew after being arrested on political corruption charges.15

    Sittenfeld was arrested on federal charges of corruption and bribery on November 19, 2020.15 A jury found Sittenfeld guilty of one count of bribery and one count of extortion in 2022, related to accepting $20,000 in campaign donations from undercover FBI agents.13 He was sentenced to 16 months in prison on October 10, 2023.5

    Sittenfeld began serving his sentence on January 2, 2024, and was released from prison on May 15, 2024, pending the outcome of his appeal.35 However, a federal appeals court upheld his bribery and extortion conviction.3 His LinkedIn username is p-g-sittenfeld-82176b4.4
