Peter Yoo

Dr. Peter Yoo is a distinguished neuroscientist with expertise in endovascular Brain-Computer Interfaces, currently affiliated with the cutting-edge neurotech company, Synchron.

His notable educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience from the University of Melbourne, a BSc(hon) in Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biopsychology with Dean's Honours from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in MusB Psychology from the University of Otago.

Within Synchron, Dr. Yoo serves as the Director of Neuroscience, leveraging his expertise to develop minimally-invasive Brain-Computer Interface systems aimed at empowering paralyzed individuals to interact with technology using their thoughts, eliminating the need for open-brain surgery.

His previous roles within Synchron include Head of Product for brainOS and Neuroscientist, showcasing his diverse skill set and contributions to the advancement of neurotechnology.

Dr. Yoo has also shared his knowledge as a Guest Lecturer in the Advanced Course in Neuroimaging at the Melbourne Brain Centre, The University of Melbourne, and as a Speaker at the same institution.
