Peter Wang

Peter Wang is the co-founder and Chief AI and Innovation Officer of Anaconda, a company he helped establish in 2012 with the goal of democratizing business-data analytics by making Python tools easier to use.13 He previously held the position of CEO at Anaconda.

Wang has extensive experience in software design and development across various areas, including 3D graphics, geophysics, large data simulation and visualization, financial risk modeling, and medical imaging.23 He played a crucial role in Python's rise to prominence as one of the world's most popular programming languages, particularly in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence.1

As a creator of the PyData community and conferences, Wang is dedicated to growing the Python data science community and advocating for increased data literacy worldwide.3 He currently leads Anaconda's AI Incubator, which focuses on advancing core Python technologies and developing new frontiers in open-source AI and machine learning, especially in areas such as edge computing, data privacy, and decentralized computing.3
