Peter Swan, Ph.D

Peter A. Swan, Ph.D., is the Senior Vice President at Galactic Harbour Associates, Inc., where he focuses on developing and testing space elevator technologies. He is also the President of the International Space Elevator Consortium and has held various leadership roles in organizations related to space exploration, including the National Space Society.

Dr. Swan has an extensive background in aerospace and space systems engineering. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1968 and served 20 years in the Air Force, specializing in research and development in the space sector. After retiring, he worked with Motorola on the Iridium satellite program and later co-founded Teaching Science and Technology, Inc., which focuses on educating students in space systems engineering.

He holds a Ph.D. in Space Systems Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has authored and edited numerous publications on space topics, particularly related to space elevators and their feasibility. His contributions to the field have been recognized by his fellowships in prestigious organizations such as the British Interplanetary Society and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.1234
