Peter Merrigan
CEO at Taurus Investment Holdings
Peter Merrigan is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner at Taurus Investment Holdings LLC, a global real estate private equity firm.14 He joined Taurus in 1997 as CEO.1 As CEO and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, Merrigan defines and guides Taurus in developing and executing investment strategies in multi-family housing, logistics, retail, office, hospitality, and renewable energy sectors across the U.S. and internationally.2 His LinkedIn username is petermerrigan.4
Merrigan has overseen the acquisition and development of more than 70 million square feet of commercial space to date, with a value in excess of $10.5 billion.24 Some notable initiatives and projects under his leadership include1:
- The full deployment of $520 million in capital through US Logistics Fund I, LP into value-add US logistics properties (2018).
- The land assemblage and master plan development of the Assembly Row project in Somerville, MA.
- The assemblage of the 29-building, $227 million Newbury Line portfolio on Newbury Street in Boston.
- The acquisition and redevelopment of the £250 million Aldwych House office project in London, UK.
- The development of Austin’s first net-zero master-planned community, Whisper Valley.
- The planning of Taurus Downtown Trivandrum, located in Trivandrum, India.
Prior to joining Taurus Investment Holdings, Merrigan worked in various entrepreneurial and institutional settings, including CB Commercial, John M. Corcoran & Company, and Berkeley Investments.5
Merrigan received a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.1 He currently serves on the Board of Family Reach, a nonprofit providing financial relief for families fighting cancer, and on the board of Self Help Africa.1 In addition, he created the Professor Edward Callahan Irish Studies Support Fund, which encourages student and faculty research, hosts authors, and promotes Irish Cultural Events at Holy Cross.1 Boston Real Estate Times named Peter Merrigan as its “Person of the Year” for 2022.3
