Peter Marcum
Founding Partner of Kernel Equity,
Peter Marcum is a Managing Partner with a strong background in building and growing technology companies.
In the early 1980s, Peter started his journey in the information technology field as a self-taught computer programmer, creating and selling a public housing software package.
Throughout his career, Peter founded and sold multiple successful businesses, including JML Computers, Computerland of Nashville and Birmingham, Nashville Computer Liquidators, and later co-founded Essex Technology Group which led to the creation of Bargain Hunt.
In 2003, Peter founded WV Fiber, a national fiber network business, and later acquired Usenet Server, building it into a successful venture before selling it in 2007.
After the sale of WV Fiber, Peter's small programming arm evolved into DevDigital, LLC, a full-service software developer offering a range of services including web and application development, SEO, learning management systems, and hosting.
DevDigital has expanded its services to include equity investing through Kernel Equity, launched in 2016, to help companies in need of technical knowledge, development experience, and capital.
Peter Marcum holds a degree in Economics from Morehead State University and has been involved in various organizations such as Kernel Equity LLC, NASHIX, DevDigital, WVFiber, Wilhagan Ventures, and Essex Tech Group Bargain Hunt.
