Peter Loehr

Peter Loehr is an accomplished American film producer and executive with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, particularly in Asia. He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at IMAX China Holdings since October 2019. His career spans over thirty years, primarily focused on the film markets in Japan and China.

Career Highlights

• Film Production: Loehr founded China's first independent film company, Imar Film Co., in 1996. He produced several successful films, including Spicy Love Soup and Shower, which received numerous awards and accolades at international film festivals.2
• Leadership Roles: He was the Managing Director for Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in China from 2005 to 2012, where he significantly expanded the agency's influence in Asia. Under his leadership, CAA represented over fifty artists and was involved in the production of numerous films.2
• CEO of Legendary East: From 2012 to 2017, he served as the CEO of Legendary East, a joint venture focusing on Sino-US co-productions. Notably, he was involved in producing The Great Wall, which became the largest US-China co-production to date.2

Education

Loehr holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and has also studied at Sophia University in Japan. He is fluent in both Mandarin and Japanese, enhancing his ability to navigate the Asian entertainment landscape.12
