BGCP is a vibrant, entrepreneurial nonprofit in the heart of Silicon Valley. BGCP’s vision is for all the youth of our community to become self-sufficient adults. Our mission is to provide the low-income youth of our community with the opportunities they need to succeed in school.BGCP serves youth in grades K–12 at 14 locations: three clubhouses and 11 school sites in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City, where a third of the youth drop out of high school. While most youth development organizations select whom they serve, BGCP serves all youth.The organization has grown rapidly over the past five years and now serves 2,500 active members (attend at least twice a week) with a budget of $12 million and 200 employees.BGCP has evolved from being an after-school program to an expanded learning time partner with families and schools. It partners closely with school district officials, principals and teachers to enhance their students’ school success.

Helped position company for third best performing IPO of 1998 by writing part of S1 and roadshow pitch. Created vision and positioning for Wall Street. Most importantly, learned how hard Silicon Valley entrepreneurs work, and how much they sacrifice, to create lasting value. Learned the value of execution and responsiveness.

Worked on a range of strategic projects for clients in brokerage, health re-insurance, private banking and consumer products. Led recruiting from Princeton University. Most importantly, learned how a great company treats and invests in its employees. Learned about client service.
