Peter De Bock is an accomplished individual with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, excelling with a GPA of 3.9. He also holds a Master's Degree in Aviation System Engineering Leadership from the University of Warwick - WMG, and an MSc in Applied Mechanics from the University of Twente.
Throughout his career, Peter has gained valuable experience in the field of energy technologies, with a particular emphasis on thermal management, thermodynamics, and reducing carbon emissions within the aviation industry. He has held various roles at GE Research, including Platform Leader for Aviation Power Thermal Management Systems, Principal Aero-Thermal Engineer, Senior Electronics Cooling Researcher, Lead Thermal Researcher, and Thermal Researcher. Peter has also worked as a Research Intern at Sonion and as a Research Assistant at the University of Southern Queensland.
Peter De Bock currently serves as the Program Director for the Advanced Research Program Agency - Energy (ARPA-E), where he focuses on identifying innovation opportunities and technology gaps in Energy Technologies. He excels in building communities of academia, industry, and government partnerships to drive impactful change in the energy sector, with a specific interest in thermal management and carbon emissions reduction for aviation.
