Perry Chao

Perry Chao is a seasoned professional who currently serves as the Director of Regulatory Affairs at HRAI (Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada).13 In this role, he is responsible for regulatory affairs, primarily at the federal and bi-national level, with a focus on ensuring regulatory harmonization between Canada and the US, as well as within Canada.1

Perry brings a wealth of relevant experience to his position at HRAI. His background includes:

1. Education:

   • MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University
   • B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo

2. Professional Experience:

   • Project Manager for Construction and Infrastructure Standards at CSA Group, where he managed critical projects such as the CSA B52:23 Mechanical Refrigeration Code1
   • Worked for the Ontario College of Trades
   • Held various roles within the Government of Ontario, interacting regularly with the HVACR sector1
