Pernilla Qvarfordt

Pernilla Qvarfordt is a seasoned professional with a broad expertise in research, invention, human-computer interaction, eye tracking, computer-supported collaboration and meeting environments, user interface design, and user studies.

With a background in computer science and cognitive science from Linköping University, Pernilla has developed a strong set of analytical skills, including statistical analysis, SPSS, R and RStudio, discourse analysis, and survey design.

Her computing skills are extensive, covering a wide range of programming languages such as Javascript, Java, C#, C++, Python, Perl, and Lisp, along with proficiency in MySQL and various design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, DreamWeaver, and FrameMaker.

Throughout her career, Pernilla has created innovative computing tools and experimental interaction systems, notably eye-tracker augmented multimodal interactive systems like RealTourist and iTourist, as well as applications like iBrowser and iBrowser Visualizer aimed at enhancing user experience.

She has hands-on experience with different eye trackers including Tobii X120, EyeTribe, GazePoint GP3, and PupilLab, utilizing them in her research to drive insights and advancements in human-computer interaction.

Pernilla has held key positions in renowned organizations, serving as the Design Research Lead at eBay, a Senior Design Researcher at eBay, a Senior Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory, a Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory, a Visiting Researcher at IBM Almaden Research Center, and a Lecturer in Interaction Design at Linköping University.
