Per Buer is an experienced software manager with a strong background in cloud services, scalability, and reliability. He embarked on his professional journey while studying, initially focusing on systems- and web development as an independent contractor.
Per's career progressed as he joined Linpro in 1998, initially as a programmer. During the dotcom bubble burst, Per took on a department head role to facilitate the company's turnaround. His responsibilities evolved over time, eventually overseeing the managed IT operation, a team of consultants, and the company's product and solutions team by January 2007.
In late 2009, Per Buer founded Varnish Software, where he served as CEO initially and later transitioned into the role of CTO. In 2017, he departed from Varnish Software to lead IncludeOS, a venture that unfortunately did not achieve product-market fit and was closed in 2019.
Following his tenure at IncludeOS, Per spent two years as a principal engineer at Knowit Objectnet, engaging in diverse tasks and reigniting his passion for programming. He strongly believes that a deep understanding of technology significantly enhances software development management.
In February 2021, Per Buer joined Celerway Communications as the Chief Information Officer, focusing on integrating their routers with a cloud backend. With a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Oslo (UiO), Per's career has spanned various roles and contributions to companies like Redpill Linpro, Varnish Software Group, and Tech Computers.
