Pengfei Song

Pengfei Song: is a Professor of Biology, Course Coordinator, and Science Club Advisor at Virginia Peninsula Community College in Hampton, Virginia.1234 He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Tianjin University and two graduate degrees in biological sciences from Michigan Technological University.1

Song has extensive experience in undergraduate teaching, with a focus on hands-on work that applies science to real-life applications.1 He aims to engage non-science major students in science through activities they can relate to their everyday lives, while also challenging them mentally.1

In addition to his teaching duties, Song helps non-English speaking scientists edit their scholarly manuscripts.1 Since 2007, he has edited over 130 articles that were later published in peer-reviewed journals.1 He also has an interest in business administration and management, having completed courses in Financial Accounting Principles and Microeconomics Theory from Harvard's Extension School.1

Song's research experience includes postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University, where he focused on proteomics, metagenomics, and transcriptomics of hydrothermal vent microorganisms and microbial fuel cells1, and at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he studied human cancer biochemistry and molecular biology.1
