Highlights
Team found a way to reduce trust assumptions while lending against BTC. Currently to take a loan in stablecoins your bitcoin should be wrapped (for example by Bitgo or Coinbase). Obviously if something goes wrong (custodian key compromised, regulation suddenly changes etc) BTC would be lost.
Ideally all operations should be done client side and involve little trust from third parties (obviously taking a loan in stablecoins implies trust to the issuer).
@Rarimo_protocol doing a lot of deep research regarding self-sovereign key management and this outcome of the research could help other teams design better lending protocols.
