    Paula Mason is a dedicated educator with a passion for learning and teaching. Her research focuses on topics such as the school disengagement of African American boys, motivation for reading, and teacher self-efficacy. She holds several Texas certifications including Generalist EC-4, English as a Second Language EC-12, Reading Specialist EC-12, Master Reading Teacher EC-12, and Principal EC-12.

    Paula pursued her academic journey at Texas A&M University - Commerce where she obtained a Master of Education and a Doctor of Education in Education. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from The University of Texas at Arlington.

    Throughout her career, Paula Mason has held various roles in education. She is currently the Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for Teacher Education at Paul Quinn College. Her previous experiences include serving as a Curriculum Coordinator for Early Learning at Dallas Independent School District, a Lecturer at Unt Dallas, a Literacy Specialist K-12 at Lancaster ISD, an Instructional Design Coach at Duncanville ISD, an Online Faculty member at University of Phoenix, a Reading Specialist at Duncanville ISD, and an Elementary Teacher at Duncanville ISD.
