Paul Thompson

Paul Thompson is an experienced Ab Initio software engineer with a comprehensive background in development, design, and leadership spanning 18 years.

During his career, Paul has held various leadership roles, serving as a technical lead for multiple teams and projects while also mentoring developers of different levels.

He possesses expertise in Oracle, Teradata, Unix/Linux, and MS SQL Server alongside his proficiency in Ab Initio.

In April 2019, Paul Thompson assumed the position of Senior Director at Capgemini America Financial Services, overseeing the Ab Initio practice across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Before his role at Capgemini, he worked with Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina focusing on Information Stewardship & Governance with emphasis on MDM and Reference Data Management leveraging tools like Ab Initio, Reltio, Spark, and Hadoop.

His professional journey includes a tenure as a Senior Director at Exusia, concentrating on the Architecture and Engineering of Ab Initio applications from 2016 to 2018.

Prior to that, as an Ab Initio Principal Engineer at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Paul led the design and engineering of Ab Initio applications within Treasury IT, facilitating growth in both the resource pool and skills related to Ab Initio at CBA.

Paul Thompson's career kicked off at NYSE Euronext in London, where he spent five years as a lead developer, contributing significantly to the design, build, and support of various platforms, including one for trade registration, position management, and clearing.

He also led a team tasked with implementing a new platform for administering the LIBOR and ISDAFIX benchmarks during his final year at NYSE Euronext.

In terms of education, Paul studied Computer Science at Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelor's of Science degree.

Throughout his career, Paul has held various roles across different organizations, including Senior Ab Initio Software Consultant at Blue Cross NC, Principal Engineer at Exusia, Inc., Senior Ab Initio Software Consultant at NYSE Euronext, and more.
