Paul Summers is an experienced mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisor with over fourteen years of successful M&A deals under his belt. Throughout his career, he has worked with COO's, Boards, and company owners to achieve corporate strategies, including debt/equity raises, disposals, acquisitions, re-financing, and organic growth plans. His specialty industries include E&P O&G, real estate/construction, retail, manufacturing, FIG/retail banking, and FMCG/consumer products.
Paul has a wealth of experience with project managing M&A deals, including identifying M&A opportunities/targets, negotiating deal and commercial terms, supervising documentation, doing valuation modeling, working with the underlying company management, and due diligence. He also excels in relationship management, gaining buy-in to organization-wide change via M&A, providing research and analysis of clients' commercial position, and due diligence.
Paul completed his MBA in Finance at London Business School, his FCA in Accounting at Chartered Accountants Ireland, his MSc in Corporate & International Finance at the University of Durham, and his BA Hons in Finance at the University of Stirling. He also holds a Diploma in IFRS Accounting. Before moving into M&A advisory, Paul worked as an audit junior at KPMG and a mergers & acquisitions executive at KPMG Corporate Finance LLC. He then moved on to work as a business analyst for land acquisition and residential real estate development at Taylor Woodrow Plc, open innovation finance manager (including M&A brief for home & personal care) at Unilever Plc, pre/post-acquisition investment manager at Bank Alkhair, and senior manager for mergers & acquisitions at The Zubair Corporation. His current role is as Group Director for Mergers, Acquisitions, and Business Development at Ali Zaid Al-Quraishi & Brothers.
