    Paul Gurr is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, specializing in Polymer Science within the Chemical Engineering Department. His current focus is on developing innovative polymeric materials for the 'Unlocking the Food Value Chain: Australian Food Industry Transformation for ASEAN Markets' project in partnership with Mondelez. This initiative aims to enhance food safety, consumer confidence, and market opportunities for Australian food products.

    Dr. Gurr obtained his PhD from the University of Melbourne, where he pioneered core crosslinked star (CCS) polymers in collaboration with DuPont. Subsequently, he contributed to the ARC CO2CRC carbon capture storage project, designing gas separation membranes to mitigate coal-powered emissions for sequestration. Prior to this, he earned an Honours degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Monash University and amassed a decade of research experience at CSIRO's Molecular Science division, specializing in organic synthesis and the development of commercial products for various companies.

    With a background in both academia and industry, Paul Gurr's expertise encompasses polymer science, chemical engineering, synthetic organic chemistry, and research and development. His versatile skill set and extensive experience make him a valuable asset in pioneering novel materials and solutions across diverse sectors.
