Paul Edwards is the Chief Executive Officer of GeneMedix plc, a UK-based biosimilars organization. He has an extensive background in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, boasting over 40 years of experience. Edwards graduated as a chemist and began his career at Beecham Pharmaceuticals and Genzyme Corporation, where he led the UK operations for Genzyme.
In 2000, he took the helm at GeneMedix plc, successfully leading a significant funding round that resulted in a dual listing on both the London and Singapore Stock Exchanges. His leadership has positioned GeneMedix as a notable player in the biotech field. Edwards has also served as a non-executive director for various organizations, including Goldshield Group plc and BioProducts Laboratories, overseeing their sales to private equity groups. Additionally, he acted as interim CEO for NanoMab Technology Ltd and has been involved with Horton International as a Managing Partner since 2011.
His contributions to biotechnology have been recognized with several accolades, including an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to the field in 1997. Edwards is also known for his role as Chairman of the UK BioIndustry Association’s Manufacturing Advisory Committee and received the Donald Medal for services to Biochemical Engineering in 1999.123
