Blacksmith KYC is a platform for Financial Institutions to perform Customer Due Diligence of their Corporate and FI clients (KYB). It was founded in 2017 and originally developed at ING Innovation Labs in Singapore. In addition to the flagship customer ING, Blacksmith’s customer base includes banks and other financial institutions across the globe.
As Blacksmith's COO and the Head of Product, I led the development of the platform and formed a high performing, international team. I was also responsible for Blacksmith's governance, risk management, business processes and operations. I supported business development and accounts growth through stakeholders engagement and building digital transformation roadmaps with clients.

ING Labs is the corporate venture building arm of ING bringing disruptive innovation to the customers and to own business units. At ING Labs, innovation starts with an understanding of the ever-evolving user needs. ING Lab's approach is all about testing and validating the assumptions before they are build. This ensures the solutions are desirable, feasible and viable.
As an expert in product leadership and service design, I was responsible for scaling a startup in the Know-Your-Customer (KYC) / RegTech value space.

I was responsible for building the new core banking system for ING Belgium and ING Netherlands impacting 11mln customers. I was leading a team of Product Owners and Customer Journey Experts who were defining the product offering and the processes for the Current Accounts domain. Team activities included product design, service design, go-to-market strategy, process design, solution design, migration strategy and IT implementation. My role was to ensure strategic alignment with bank's goals and to keep the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors well informed about the project progress. I managed the expert team and provided the overall product vision. I aligned with stakeholders and ensured obstacles and conflicts were resolved.

In this function I was responsible for the integration of the IT platforms of ING Belgium and ING Netherlands and the delivery of the commercial migration plan. I have also created a delivery team of customer journey experts, the organization and governance needed to make this program a success.

I joined Daily Banking business of ING Belgium to I setup a new team and create an innovative reporting and analytics system. We created a 360° product, customer and performance view of the Daily Banking business being current accounts, cards, payments and innovative solutions like the loyalty solution Joyn, QR payments solution Payconiq and ING Invoice Solutions. Reporting and insights covered: P&L, customer insights, market trends, customer experience, competition, sales and operational performance.
