Hired to "fix RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization) problem & to get LL ready for IPO".  Staunched hemorrhage of 38% RMAs by doing personal triage with the customers, hiring mfg & mgmt expertise, & by emphasizing solid operational mgmt.  Reduced RMAs to single digit with continued improvement by adding lightweight, 'just enough" process to enhance cross-function ops, including hand-off to white-box manufacturer.  In 2008, augmented & stabilized exec & technical team, established customer success as focus across entire team.  Grew revenues from $27M to $40M, a 40% increase in 2008; Hired Exec Sales leader, who started to build credible pipeline & started 2-tier channel focus.  Set new strategy to combine log mgmt with security information & events mgmt (SIEM) when the mortgage financial crisis struck and the Great Recession loomed; reduced workforce by 30%.  Recruited new w SIEM and built on LL's positive aura.  Doubled the number of LL customers from 400 to 840 organically [1100+ overall incl. acquisition of ExaProtect SA].  Initiated & successfully completed an all-stock acquisition and integration of Exaprotect, SA, along with a $900K investment by EP's VCs.  These actions placed LL in leadership Quadrant of 2009 Gartner MQ for SIEM from challenger in 2008.  Established first Customer Council in 2009.  LL was named one of the Top 100 Private Companies, 2008, 2009.

Turned around declining fortunes of LSE-listed SurfControl Plc  [SRF.L] resulting in the acquisition of SRF at 63% premium for shareholders [WBSN: NASDAQ].  Prior to my arrival, SRF had two-years of flat to declining bookings, with double-digit decline in the US market, or more than 70% of company's revenues.  Established "Enable our Channel partners" & "Delight our Customers" as part of our company's operational tenet, and immediately saw positive results:  Delivered 10 of 11 qtrs w/ positive billings growth.  Implemented hybrid approach to sales, giving the customer choice between perpetual license and subscription licensing; reduced the risk of "lost" perpetual license revenue.  Restructured company, hired new exec team, and set new strategy to provide for cloud protection (Acquired Blackspider Technologies, BST, a private UK startup), & integrated SRF's multiple layers of protection at the cloud, server, & desktop.  Grew SRF bookings 12%.  BST achieved positive contribution in 3 qtrs vs. projected 4 qtrs.
