    Play Advocate at Lets Play America

    Pat Rumbaugh, also known as The Play Lady, is a passionate advocate for play across all age groups.

    Her background is steeped in sports and physical activity, having been an avid player, a multi-sport high school athlete, a collegiate tennis competitor, and a USTA player.

    With a strong educational foundation, she studied Sports Psychology for her Masters at The George Washington University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Indiana University of PA.

    Pat's extensive experience includes a thirty-year tenure as a high school physical education teacher and coach at the Washington International School, where she coached over 60 teams in various sports from second grade to college level.

    In 2009, she was honored with the title of All-Met Girls High School Tennis Coach of the Year by The Washington Post.

    March 2009 marked the inception of Takoma Plays, an organization Pat founded that hosts free play events for the community.

    Currently, Pat is dedicated to establishing Let's Play America, a non-profit organization aimed at promoting the importance of play. Her motto is 'It doesn't matter what you play. What matters is that you do play.'
