Pascal Plantard is a Full Professor of Educational, Communication & Information Sciences at Rennes 2 University with a specialization in Anthropology of digital technology. He completed his initial training as an Éducateur spécialisé at the University of Montréal and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in information-communication. After further studies at universities in Paris, he obtained a doctorate in 1992 under the supervision of Monique Linard. Pascal is the founder of the GRISE (Groupe de Recherche sur l’Informatique en Sciences de l’Éducation) established in 1986. Joining the University Rennes 2 as a Maître de Conférences in 1997, he currently holds the position of a Full Professor, Vice-President Innovation Pédagogique et Numérique until April 2019, and co-director of the GIS M@rsouin research network, the largest French-speaking research network on digital technology usage. Pascal is actively involved in various academic and scientific advisory bodies, contributing to the advancement of digital education and inclusion through an anthropological lens. He has an extensive publication record comprising 36 scientific articles and 18 books or book chapters focusing on digital transition, E-education, and E-inclusion.
